Bowie Crime: Armed Robbery on Aspen Hill Drive

A Bowie man was held at gunpoint and robbed outside of his home on April 18.

A 21-year-old man was assaulted robbed at gunpoint outside of his Bowie home in the early morning hours of April 18, according to a police report.

Bowie police responded to a report of an armed robbery on the 17100 block of Aspen Leaf Drive shortly after midnight on April 18.

At the scene, the victim told police that he was parking his car on the street in front of his house when he was approached by two male suspect. One suspect approached the passenger’s side and one approached the of the driver’s side of the vehicle.

The first suspect, who was beside the driver’s side of the car, produced a shotgun and aimed it at the victim, demanding money and other property, police said. The victim reported that he handed over cash and his cell phone.

The second suspect then searched the victim’s car and took “numerous” pieces of property while the first suspect continued to hold the victim at gunpoint, according to police. After completing his search of the vehicle, the suspect struck the victim in the face with a closed fist before fleeing with his accomplice in an unknown direction.

Bowie police set up a perimeter and a Prince George’s County Police K-9 unit responded to the scene to track the suspects. Police report that the dog retrieved a piece of clothing but did not find the suspects. A police canvass of the neighborhood was also unsuccessful in locating the two men.

The suspect’s car was dusted for prints and the investigation is ongoing, police said
