Bowie Crime: 1st Degree Assault, Malicious Burning

The following information was gathered from Bowie Police Department Unusual Crime Reports.

1st Degree Assault
Bowie Police responded to a complaint of first degree assault at the 8500 block of River Park Rd. at around 11:30 p.m on July 22. According to the police report, the victim reported  that four suspects, described as black men in their late teens driving a maroon Mercury, discussed robbing the victim before driving off. They returned shortly and one of the suspects brandished a gun at the victim. The suspects did not make any demands, and they left the scene. Police canvassed the area but were unsuccessful in locating the suspects.

Malicious Burning
A suspicious fire on the 12300 block of Shadow Ln. was reported to Bowie Police at approximately 1 a.m. on July 29. Police arrived on the scene to find a chair on the front porch had been set on fire. The fire was extinguished by witnesses before they called the police, according to the police report. Witnesses provided a description of the suspect and police located him in a vehicle not far from the scene. John Mathew Pasco Antioquia, 20, was arrested and charged with reckless endangerment and malicious burning. The police report also stated that theft charges against Antioquia are pending.
