Bowie Area Woman Pleads Guilty to Crofton Bank Robbery

Alexandra Miller, 41, is facing up to 20 years in prison for robbing a PNC Bank in Crofton.

A local woman who led police on a car chase spanning two counties pleaded guilty to robbery Thursday in Anne Arundel County Circuit Court, according to The Capital Gazette

Alexandra Miller, 41, of Bowie, pleaded guilty to robbing the PNC Bank inside the Giant located on the 1100 block of Route 3 on Feb. 7, 2013.

According to the police report filed at the time of the incident, Miller approached the teller, implied she had a handgun and demanded money. The teller handed over an undisclosed amount of cash and the suspect fled in her SUV.

Officers from several jurisdictions proceeded to search the area for Miller. She was located by officers at a parking lot at Sacred Heart Church at 16501 Annapolis Rd. in Bowie, where she refused to exit her vehicle. She proceeded to drive her car from Bowie along Route 450 towards Annapolis.

Police were eventually able to disable Miller's vehicle using stop sticks, and her SUV stopped on the right shoulder of Route 50 West, on the ramp leading to I-97 North. Miller then attempted to flee on foot but was immediately caught by officers with the assistance of a K-9 unit.

Miller is facing up to 20 years in prison for robbery. Her sentencing is scheduled for Oct. 3.
