Automotive Garage Fire Causes $60K in Damages

The incident closed down part of Rt. 301 in Bowie for about an hour last night.

A fire in a auto repair garage in Bowie caused an estimated $60,000 in damages Sunday evening, according to Prince George's County Fire Department spokesperson Mark Brady. 

The fire was reported around 11 p.m. Sunday night, in a garage located on Rt. 301 near Central Avenue. The blaze, which closed part of Rt. 301 for about an hour last night, was quickly extinguished and no injuries were reported, Brady said. 

The $60,000 damage estimate includes damage to the structure and its contents. The cause of the fire is under investigation, Brady said.
