Arrest Warrant Issued for Driver in Brandywine Crash

A Waldorf man was killed Thursday night, while a second passenger was injured, last week in a Brandywine crash. Prince George's County Police are searching for the stolen car's driver.

An arrest warrant has been issued for the driver of a stolen car who reportedly fled the scene of a Brandywine crash that killed one passenger and seriously injured another.

The Prince George's County Police Department is searching for the driver, who was seen running from the crash site on July 17. Police say the suspect is Bryant Christopher Lewis, 23, of Shirl Court in Clinton. Detectives believe he may now be driving a Mercedes similar to the one pictured.

Investigators say the Ford Mustang driven by Lewis at the time of the crash was stolen. He now faces multiple charges related to the stolen auto and leaving the scene of an accident.

The crash happened in the 16300 block of McKendree Road. Investigators believe Lewis was speeding eastbound, lost control of the car, which left the roadway, and struck a utility pole.
