Armed Robbery at Shell Station Under Investigation

The Bel Air Shell Gas Station on Old Annapolis Road in Bowie was allegedly robbed at gunpoint Sunday evening.

Bowie police responded Sunday to a report of an armed robbery at the Bel Air Shell Gas Station at 13811 Old Annapolis Rd. in Bowie. 

According to the police report, the witness reported that a man with a shotgun entered the Shell Gas Station, pointed the gun at the clerk and demanded money from the cash register.

The suspect then fled the scene and was last seen heading on foot toward Church Road. Bowie police and a Prince George’s County Police Department (PGPD) K-9 unit canvassed the area for the suspect, but he was not located.

PGPD has taken over the investigation.

This is not the first time the Bel Air Shell Station on Old Annapolis Road has been robbed at gunpoint. The station was also targeted as part of a string of commercial armed robberies as spring. PGPD apprehended three suspects on charges related to those crimes back in May.
