An Accokeek man died Tuesday night when his SUV struck a car stopped at an intersection and then rolled over in Fort Washington.

The Prince George's County Police Department is investigating whether speed was a factor in the fatal collision. The victim is identified as James Fearing, 47, of Reserve Road in Accokeek.

The wreck happened about 5:40 p.m. July 22 at the intersection of Indian Head Highway and Old Fort Road. Fearing, the SUV driver, was pronounced dead on the scene.

Fearing's SUV was northbound on Indian Head Highway when he struck the rear of a car stopped at the intersection with Old Fort Road. The SUV then left the roadway and rolled over.

The driver of the car was taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries, police say. His identity has not been released.
