6 Injured in Bowie Crash

The crash occurred just before 8 p.m. Saturday on Church Road.

A crash on Church Road at Danube Lane sent six people to the hospital Saturday night, according to the Prince George's County Fire/EMS Department.

The crash, which occurred around 7:45 p.m., involved one vehicle, according to Prince George's County Fire/EMS spokesman Mark Brady.

Three medic units, two ambulances, two helicopters, two engine companies and heavy-duty rescue squad were called to respond to the crash, which trapped at least one person inside the car, according to Brady.

Two children suffered life-threatening injuries and were taken to trauma centers as a result of the crash, Brady said.

In addition, two adults and two children suffered serious injuries and were also taken for medical treatment, Brady added.

The helicopters could not fly due to bad weather, Brady said Saturday evening.

It was raining on and off in Bowie from Saturday afternoon to 1 a.m. Sunday, with a light fog descending in the evening, the National Weather Service reported.
