Who wants to be under a cloud? Most people think of a cloud as a bad thing.  I mean think about it even the meteorologist put a negative spin on the weather when he/she mentions clouds. We have different types of clouds: white clouds and dark clouds.  White clouds are usually associated with positive thoughts, beauty, peace and even day dreaming.  I am sure you have heard people say, "I feel like I'm on Cloud 9".  While on the other hand dark clouds are associated with negative thoughts, depression, gloom and doom. At times when things are not going as planned, people will often say, "I just have this dark cloud over my head".

Sooo, why would I even want to talk about clouds?  What would be the significance of talking about clouds when they can have double meaning?  Well, in my opinion clouds are a good thing.  I reflect upon God's covering of the cloud for the Israelites.  Let's look at Exodus 14:20, "So it came between the camp of the Egyptians and the camp of Israel. Thus it was a cloud and darkness to the one, and it gave light by night to the other, so that the one did not come near the other all that night."  Wow, now that is deep.  God took a cloud and used it to cover and protect His chosen people.  While that same cloud was darkness to the Egyptians.  In other words, the cloud became two different realities: "a curse to the pursuing Egyptians and a blessing to the entrapped Israelites."  Look at God!  When you are "going through" just ask God to put you under the cloud.  Ask Him to protect you and keep you in His light.  No matter how dark things may seem you are not alone.  Look at your cloud in a different light.  God's cloud is often His light to separate us from harm.

Now that's a word!
