Wisdom Wednesdays: "An Army ... Really?"

I think it is very interesting that sometimes we think we need a full army in order to do what God has called us to do.  I mean, some people are seeking confirmation from 10 people or more before that do what they already know God has called them to do.  An Army ... Really?  Did you notice that in Matthew 18:20, "For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them”,  God said two or three not ten?  Sometimes I think we do not move forward because of fear.  Other times I think it is because we are content where we are. Ouch, I know.

I can recall times in my life where I was seeking confirmation, no, let me be honest.  I was really seeking approval from people to buy into my idea.  Hmm... have you done the same? And just like Gideon, God told me to get rid of some of my troops.  In Judges 7:2," But the Lord said to Gideon, “The people are still too many; bring them down to the water, and I will test them for you there. Then it will be, that of whom I say to you, ‘This one shall go with you,’ the same shall go with you; and of whomever I say to you, ‘This one shall not go with you,’ the same shall not go.”"  Be honest with yourself, when God has told you to let go of some of your army were you obedient.  If you answer is no, don't worry, you are not alone.  God truly knows what and who’s best for us.  Let's continue to march forward knowing that when we do as God says then He will direct our path and choose the right people, when necessary, to help us complete our tasks.  Be prepared because sometimes you will not need an army.
