When/Where: 4-8 p.m. Thursday at the , Ritchie Highway, Severna Park

Why Go: This event sponsored by the Greater Severna Park Chamber of Commerce features local school chorus, exhibitors, raffles, food refreshments.

What: Parent Involvement Conference

When/Where: 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Saturday, Anne Arundel Community College

Why Go: Discuss issues relating to local schools with other parents in the county

Cost: Free

When/Where: 7 p.m. Saturday at the , 1425 Annapolis Road, Odenton

Why Go: Support the local fire department by feasting on pit beef and ham, oysters on the half shell, country sausage, hot dogs and sauerkraut and more. There will also be desserts and DJ entertainment. Call 410-674-4444 for tickets.

Why Go: This one-stop shopping event will feature food, free samples and give-aways, as well as items for sale from vendors selling interior design and houseware items, perfume, skin care items, jewelry, kitchen wares and original professional photography.

Why Go: It's a great chance to celebrate the season and help the needy.

Why Go: This annual event is fun and raises money for local charities.
