Why Go: Now in its 18th year, the Capital Challenge Horse Show returns to Prince George's Equestrian Center with nine full days of competition. And besides, you can't beat a free event with horses.

Why Go: Come see former Arundel High music director Phil Butts perform some great jazz classics and new arrangements.

Why Go: In addition to watching runners in high heels cover a course throughout the Towne Center, there also will be live music and Gordon Biersch beer. Towne Center restaurants also will provide food all for the benefit of the AAMC Breast Center.

When/Where: 6 p.m. Sunday at , 8132 New Cut Road

Why Go: Those passionate about American Sign Language and the local deaf community gather together for dinner, signing and growing in their understanding of the hearing impaired.

Cost: Free

When/Where: 10 a.m. Sunday at Y Worry Farm, Davidsonville

Why Go: Make a scarecrow (bring your own clothes), ride a pony, face painting, balloons, and corn maze. There will also be hayrides, farm animals and a pick-your-own pumpkin patch. This is event is designed to remind everyone of the importance of family farms.
