Weekend Planner: Haunted House, Jewelry Show and Spaghetti

Not sure what to do this weekend? Here are some events happening in our area!

The leaves are changing colors, the temperatures are cooling off and fall festivals are on the calendar. This weekend brings many opportunities for pumpkin picking, leaf peeping and cider drinking—as well as some fun indoor activities too.

 

What:

Where/When: 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, at Cape St. Claire United Methodist Church, Cape St. Claire

Why Go: Get your pumpkins and make scarecrows. Enjoy hayrides, games, food, hot apple cider and more.

What: Fall Festival at Nichols-Bethel Church

Where/When: noon to 2 p.m., , Odenton

Why Go: There will be bobbing for apples, contests and games for kids, plus pumpkins for sale with proceeds benefitting the church's youth mission.

Where/When: 5 p.m., Friday, , Severna Park

Why Go: Delicious food and entertainment to benefit the Severna Park Community Center.

Cost: adults $10, children age 4-8 $5, kids under 3 free

Where/When: 8:30 a.m. to noon, Saturday, Hillsmere Community Beach, at the corner of Hillsmere and East Bay View Drive.

Why Go: Enjoy the changing seasons and the colors of fall on the South River, around and along Harness and Duvall creeks.

Where/When: 7 p.m., Friday, 1100 Clark Road, Fort Meade

Why Go: The members of Meade High School's "Way-Off Broadway Players" perform two student-directed plays, offering a night of laughter and satire.

Where/When: 10 a.m., 2506 New Market Lane, Gambrills

Why Go: Little Treasury Jewelers is hosting an estate jewelry show that will feature an extensive collection of antique and vintage jewelry, exotic gems and signed pieces.

Where/When: 8 a.m. Oct. 15,

Why Go: Get rid of household hazardous wastes around the house. This program is for Anne Arundel County residents to dispose of household hazardous products, including oven cleaners, wood preservatives, pesticides, flammable liquids, oil-based paint, fluorescent light fixtures, gasoline, mercury thermometers and disinfectants.
