Wisdom Wednesdays: "I want a Nehemiah Experience" (Part 2)

Last week we talked about Nehemiah's great leadership qualities: humility and compassion. These qualities were at the forefront as he completed his assignment to rebuild the Wall of Jerusalem. He allowed God to order his steps along the way.

Now let's go a little deeper.

How does this process relate to us today?  In order to rebuild, something has to first be in its place.  As I look over my life, I asked the Lord to tear down my old walls of Jerusalem.  I asked Him to tear down the walls of depression, doubt, anxiety, pride, selfishness and anything else that was blocking His blessings.  I asked Him to rebuild the walls of His touch, His love, His Favor, His Mercy and His Grace. And guess what?  God did just as I asked.  You see, He sent me several Nehemiah's: people who examined my situation then began to help re-build me with God's guidance and direction.  I am a new creature. 2Corinthinas 5:17 gives me the reassurance that I need, "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new."  Don't be afraid to allow God to tear down your old walls so He can re-build you for His glory.  Remember, without His walls we are vulnerable to attack."
