Wisdom Wednesdays: "Dear God"

Hi Daddy (that's the Almighty God), I know that you know it's me, but I just want to say my name - KC Ford. For so long I wondered why you hadn't answered my prayers.  I wondered if I had or had not done something. Sleepless nights, turbulent days, confused moments all seemed endless. Daddy, I wondered and wandered every day to no end. Daddy, do you hear me? Daddy, everyone around me is being blessed. You've answered the prayers that I've sent up on behalf of other people. But, but, but Daddy what about me?

I am sure that I am not alone in my Dear God moments. I've even written God a letter or two.  I've grown to understand that God does things in His own time. We have to be patient with God as he positions us to hear a word from Him.  2 Chronicles 7:14 tells us that, " if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land." So in order for us to hear from God we have to do our part.  We have to:
1. humble ourselves
2. pray
3. seek His face
4. turn from our wicked ways

What, you've done all of those things mentioned and your Dear God still hasn't been answered? Hmm... let me give you some more ammunition.  Please know that God is not punishing you. Psalm 30:5 assures us that, "For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning."  Continue to wait on your morning.  Until then, it's okay to write a Dear God letter.  Believe it or not, God already knew you would be where you are today before you were even born.  Look at what He told Jeremiah in Jeremiah 1: 5, "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; Before you were born I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations.”  So, what are you waiting for?  Go and be the person God has ordained you to be. As my Minister of Music told us, "Begin to thank God for what He didn't allow to happen".

Dear God, please encourage me and each of my readers to step out of fear and walk in the confidence and favor that you have for our lives.

P.S. Daddy, please forgive me for ever doubting the talent and favor that you have given me.

P.S.S. Oh yes, one more thing.  There were days that I quit when I should have held on.  Please forgive me.  I know better now, so I will do better.  Thanks for your loving arms, tender care, mercy, grace and forgiveness.
