Wisdom Wednesday: 'Don't Like What You're Reaping? Change What You're Sowing'

'Don't Like What You're Reaping? Change What You're Sowing'

I recently visited a church where the minister preached on the topic, "You Reap What You Sow".  Like many of you, I have heard this expression all of my life.  But this time, there was a different outlook.  This time when I heard this sermon I was compelled to think about the energy I was releasing into the atmosphere.

Are you like me and sometimes get stuck in your thoughts? Do you ever find your mind wandering when it should be focusing?  Hmm... what causes me / us to get off track?  I think sometimes when God challenges us to do something different we begin to allow "what if" scenarios to enter into our thoughts.  I've decided to begin to make a list of what God has asked me to do and turn that list into seeds.  I will begin to water each seed with a positive "sowing" of words like, "With God's help, this is what I Will do to accomplish this goal".  I will ask God to send me the help I need to fertilize each seed, to water each seed and to re-plant each seed when necessary. I want to plant and reap righteous seeds.  So I will also reflect upon Psalm 107:37, "And sow fields and plant vineyards, That they may yield a fruitful harvest."  If you don't like what you're reaping, then change what you're sowing.

Now that's a word!
