Wisdom Wednesdays

Welcome to the Oct. 31, 2012 edition of Wisdom Wednesdays. KC Ford discusses Psalm 18:6. She references Ray Parker, Jr. and David. Hmm... curious, read on for more.

Do you remember "grooving" to the beat of "Ghostbusters"?  Just hearing the name of the song gets my head bobbing.  Some of the words say, "When you're all alone, pick up the phone and call ghostbusters!"  Ray Parker, Jr. has the world still singing and referencing his famous song.  When he first recorded the song, do you think he knew that Ghostbusters would lead to movies, cartoons, and so much more?  While singing Ghostbusters, the lyrics tell us that whenever we are distressed that we are supposed to call Ghostbusters.  Going down memory lane can be so much fun.

Aww, but now that I am all grown up and continually growing in God's Word, I have come to realize that no matter where I am or what I am going through that I can always call on God.  According to Psalm 18:6, "In my distress I called upon the Lord, And cried out to my God; He heard my voice from His temple, And my cry came before Him, even to His ears."  The commentary for the New King James Version of the Nelson Study Bible says, "But even in the great depths of his trouble, David makes his distress known to God.  He cries out and the faithful God answers him."

So, when you are all alone, who are you going to call? Jesus, right!

If you are wondering how you can get through "the storms of life", I encourage you to allow God to be the Reign Gear for Your Soul.  More inspirational messages can be found in my self-published book and Audio Book, "Showers of Blessings: Reign Gear for the Soul".
