Oct. 24 - Wisdom Wednesdays: Don't Be So Harsh

Get your dose of Wisdom Wednesdays: Inspirational Thought for Today!

Hey, did you know that everybody makes mistakes?  Oh wait, what, you Never make mistakes, hmmm... "alrighty-then".   So, for those of us who live in reality, mistakes are what help us grow.  I honestly believe that mistakes are only mistakes when you do not learn from them.  In other words, mistakes need to happen so that we gain experiences that lead into testimonies.

Wouldn't it be nice if people were always kind when someone made a mistake?  Recently, I was publicly embarrassed and humiliated in front of an entire conference for something I did not even know I had done wrong.  The facilitator just kept "hounding me" without even telling me what I had done.  After many pleas from me she finally told me what I had done.  I asked her, "Why couldn't you have pulled me aside to tell me that?"  Harsh words and actions are not necessary when you know that something is done wrong out of innocence.  Will Christians be spared from being humiliated?-Absolutely not.  My humiliation and embarrassment came from another Christian.  We have to continue to pray for people.  Everyone has a bad day, but we have to be watchful of our actions.  Let's look at Acts 18:26 to learn how Aquila and Priscilla talked with Apollos when they heard that his preaching wasn't quite accurate: "So he began to speak boldly in the synagogue.  When Aquila and Priscilla heard him, they took him aside and explained to him the way of God more accurately."

We are all going to make mistakes; let's be more like Aquila and Priscilla and learn to correct each other in love and learn not to be so harsh.
