Simple Struggles of a Stay-At-Home-Mom: When it's Just Too Hot to go Outside

Do you ever have those days where all your kids want to do is go outside and stay outside ALL DAY!?  Despite the fact that it is easily 100 degrees, not factoring in the humidity and that it is a code red some days.  What is a mom to do?  I love letting my son go outside, not only does he get to explore and use his imagination but he also burns off energy.  What mother doesn't want their kid to get nice and tired, making them so much more eager to take their nap!

I am blessed to have some pretty awesome indoor toys for my son Mason who is 14 months old.  But, what kid doesn't LOVE the swings at the playground or park.  Well, I found the solution. 

I purchased a set of the hooks from Ikea, they were $3.00 so VERY affordable.  

I then puchased an extra infant swing from the local toy store, they were on clearance since the summer is almost over.  Little do they know I am putting this inside, so thank you for that 40% off, I will take it!

After having a local construction crew come and install the hooks, you can never be too safe so you really should have a professional do this.  This ensures that they are mounted properly and will be able to hold the weight.  If not, your child could be seriously injured if the mounting of the hooks fails.  The guys at Glenn Construction installed ours and they are wonderful and LOCAL!

Now in addition to a mini slide, Little Tikes we bought at a yard sale he has a swing inside!  Who needs a playground on hot days like this? 

**We also purchased a "big kid" swing attachment and rings, it's quick and easy to change them out so it's perfect for playdates or siblings!
