Have any of you with little one's heard of MY GYM? I hadn't until a friend suggested I give them a try. (Mason is like the Energizer Bunny, he NEVER stops.) Therefore, the idea of a place where I could do classes with him every week and wear him out so he could hopefully take a nap sounded amazing to me. I took him to MY GYM Annapolis for a trial class and I fell in love with the place; we signed up immediately after class. First impressions can tell you a lot about a business, especially one that deals with children. As soon as we walked through the door, my son was greeted FIRST with genuine smiles and hello's. This is huge in making our children feel comfortable in a new environment. While Mason went into the play area with the other children, I followed him around as an employee walked with me and gave me the run-down of MY GYM and their programs. One of the main points that I loved is that MY GYM like's to keep things fresh and exciting for the kids so, every week the gym is completely made over. The equiptment is moved around, re-built into new set-ups; this keeps kids of all ages interested and allows them to explore and re-explore week after week.
After my recent post dealing with cleanliness and safety of play areas, Danger at a Local Play Place, I feel that it is important for me to address cleanliness of MY GYM. A favorite spot of almost all the kids is a giant ball pit, this is cleaned WEEKLY during the staff meeting. How many places can say that they would take the time and energy to clean every single ball, MY GYM does. There is also a slime bucket available during classes as well as the Open Play for items that your children may place in their mouth. These will get cleaned immediately after the class and put back into play for the next class. It's the knowledge of those little things that really put those "mommy and daddy brains" at ease. MY GYM also allows missed classes to be made up with ease. This is great for parents because there is no pressure to come to a class with a sick child because you paid for the class and don't want to lose it.

Classes are structured in different age groups, starting as young as 6 weeks old all the way to 8 years old. My son is currently in the Waddlers class which is for children aged 14 months thru 22 months. The pictures are actually from his class today! A Siblings class is also offered, making it easier for some families who have children in different age groups to take class in one block of time. MY GYM also offers Free Play three times a week, an extra way to get active with your kids and get some of their energy out at the same time.

Mrs. Christin, owner of MY GYM Annapolis is opening a new location which will be open for classes on November 5th. The new location is in Crofton, Maryland.
