Watkins Park Readies for Annual Festival of Lights

The 27th Annual Festival of Lights will kick off on Nov. 29.

Are you looking for a new holiday tradition? 

Consider bundling up the kids, packing some cocoa and cookies, hopping in the car and visiting the 27th Annual Festival of Lights at Watkins Regional Park in Upper Marlboro.

The annual light show is displayed throughout the park. Visitors pay a per-car fee to drive through the park and admire the more than one million twinkling lights on display. The park will also be collecting canned goods for distribution to area food pantries. 

This year's festival will begin on Nov. 29 and run nightly through Jan. 1. Visitors are welcome to the park to view the lights from 5 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Fees are as follows: 

  • $5 per car or van
  • $10 for a multi-visit, transferable ticket booklet for cars and vans (three visits)
  • $15 per mini-bus or limo (seats 13 to 24)
  • $25 per bus (seats 25 or more)
  • Free on December 25
Only cash will be accepted. Watkins Regional Park is located at 301 Watkins Park Rd., Upper Marlboro.
