Bowie Health Fair Boasts Free Screenings, Blood Drive

The fair takes place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday at the Bowie Health Center on Health Center Drive.

Get your cholesterol checked, donate blood, learn about alternative forms of health care and more on Saturday at the Bowie Health Fair.

With more than 45 exhibitors, 40 free or low cost wellness screenings and health activities, this year's fair is offering residents more health care education than ever before.

"Services range from alternative health care options including acupuncture and Reiki to cholesterol and glucose testing, EKG’s, Glaucoma and vision tests, female (gynecological) exams, senior health screening and more," according to the event's website.

The event also promises exercise activities and a children's event arena.

This year, a health lecture series will also be offered as part of the fair. Topics include weight loss, long-term care and stress management. Space at the lectures is limited. Call 301-809-2026 to register, though walk-ins will be welcome, space permitting, according to the website.

The Bowie Health Fair is being held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Bowie Health Center on Saturday. The event is free to the public, though there may be some cost for some screenings.
