The Bowie Interfaith Clergy will hold the annual Bowie Interfaith Thanksgiving Eve service on Wednesday, November 24, at 7:30pm at Christian Community Presbyterian Church (CCPC), 3120 Belair Dr., Bowie, MD. This year's theme is Coming to America: Realizing the Future Together. The speaker will be Gustavo Torres, executive director of Casa de Maryland, an immigrant advocacy group. Torres has been recognized nationally and internationally for his leadership and vision in the immigrant rights movement in the United States. Originally a union leader from Colombia, Torres came to the U.S. to avoid political persecution.
An interfaith choir from CCPC, St. Matthew's United Methodist Church, Goodloe Memorial Unitarian Universalist Congregation, and Temple Solel will sing. Leading the choir will Susan Ricci-Rogel, CCPC music director. An offering of staple goods and monetary gifts will be collected for the Bowie Interfaith Food Pantry. Members of CCPC invite the community to a reception following the service.
