Local Maryland Artist ADAKU-Album Listening and Performance Event

Join local Maryland artist and acoustic guitar player ADAKU for her listening party. She will perform a couple of songs off of her debut album. Come sip some wine and champagne and enjoy some great music.

Adaku is hitting all the right notes, with her new album PLASMA released in April 2014.  With singles like Ghosts, and Silent Treatment, Adaku is making a name for herself.  The Nigerian singer/songwriter has had to hide her talent and passion for singing in order to fully complete her degree, a Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering. Throughout her education however, Adaku continued to immerse herself in music whenever and wherever she could - her YouTube covers of popular songs such as Bruno Mars' "Grenade", Adele's "Someone Like You and Nneka's "Heartbeat, garnering over 100,000 views on the popular video platform.

Gifted with an amazing voice, Adaku also plays the guitar and is set to storm the world with her uniquely sublime talents and is certainly well on her way on this journey as she was featured on YouTube's home page as a part of the month of June's Fresh face. This included a full day's feature on YouTube's music homepage.

Adaku's first single "Or You Can", released in 2012,  accompanied by a vintage inspired music video shot by Full Sails University's Film department, established her artistry as a thoughtful songwriter and unique vocalist. Her recent single Ghosts, from her debut album, produced by Paul Boanton is a guitar-led stirring Soul opus with lush Jazz leanings. The single, is captivating her listener with a rousing and emotive vocal display filled with the utmost passion, pitch-perfect control and brilliance that is exciting to see in an emerging artist. Lyrically, Adaku paints a reflective and solemn tale of elusive relationships and fickle protagonists who, like revolving doors, come in and out of our lives, appearing and disappearing like ghosts. “I I speak to ghost, I I want to cry no more, I don’t mess with the dead. I want joy and I want peace”
