BRASS BAND PRESENTS FREE CONCERT IN BOWIE
The Benfield Brass Band, a local British-style brass band, will present a concert on Sunday, October 21, 2012 at 3:00 p.m. The concert will take place at the Bowie Center for the Performing Arts, located at 15200 Annapolis Road in Bowie. The concert is free and open to the public. The performance is sponsored by the City of Bowie.

About the Benfield Brass Band:
The Benfield Brass Band is a traditional British-style brass band based in Anne Arundel County, Maryland. The band was formed in 1998 to participate in the first Gettysburg Brass Festival, and continues to perform at a variety of venues throughout the area. The ensemble's repertoire includes original works for brass band, as well as arrangements of well-known marches, medleys, hymn tunes, patriotic selections, movie soundtracks, and novelty features. An annual winter concert features popular holiday tunes and hymns. The Benfield Brass Band is directed by Ray Ascione, former director of the United States Naval Academy Band.
