The City of Bowie Arts Committee is holding an Arts Reception for its current exhibits Abstracts and Memory Bundles on Tuesday, February 19, 2013, from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM at Bowie City Hall, 15901 Excalibur Road, Bowie, 20716.
The Abstracts exhibit features all size paintings and photography, while Memory Bundles focuses on Native-American-inspired sculptures. The Memory Bundles are the work of Artist Allita Irby, an artist who has her roots in Native American heritage. Her Memory Bundles contain dried flowers and dream catchers and are in remembrance of people, places, and things.
Abstracts, which includes small and large hanging works as well as a display case of sculptures in the second floor exhibit area, includes artists not only from Bowie, but from other parts of Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, D.C.
