Annapolis Shakespeare Company presents a fresh interpretation of Shakespeare's epic fairy tale, Cymbeline. This sweeping story of love, laughter, betrayal and redemption features evil queens, forbidden love, mistaken identities, banishment, magic potions and poison. The brave princess Imogen, after being exiled from her father's court and falsely accused of adultery, sets out on a treacherous and courageous journey to reclaim her good name and reunite with her true love. Shakespeare wrote the play -- one of his last -- using many of the tragic situations and characters from his previous works, this time letting them find happier endings and new beginnings. Tragedy becomes comedy; despair turns into hope.
The production is directed by Artistic Director Sally Boyett-D’Angelo, with voice/dialect coach Nancy Krebs and fight choreographer Paul E. Hope.
