Incumbents Sweep Bowie Election: Unofficial Results

The two challengers were unsuccessful in their election bids.

Of the 40,873 registered voters in the City of Bowie, nearly 12 percent turned out Tuesday to reelect the incument mayor and council by large margins. 

Of the two contested races, Mayor G. Frederick Robinson captured 85 percent of the vote, beating out challenger Richard Dahms; and District 3 incumbent Henri Garner won nearly two-thirds of votes at 74 percent, defeating challenger Babatunde Alegbeleye.

The unoffical results of the 2013 Bowie municipal elections are listed below. Results are not official until certified by the Board of Elections. Winners are in bold.

Mayor

Richard Dahms (challenger): 666 votes, 14.32 percent
G. Frederick Robinson (incumbent): 3,979 votes, 85.53 percent
Write in: 7 votes, 0.15 percent

At-Large Councilmember (Vote for 2)

Dennis Brady: 3,415 votes, 48.61 percent
Todd M. Turner: 3,5855 votes, 1.03 percent
Write in: 25 votes, 0.36 percent

District 1 Councilmember

James Marcos: 1,019 votes, 98.84 percent
Write in: 12 votes, 1.16 percent

District 2 Councilmember

Diane M. Polangin:1,232 votes, 98.88 percent
Write in: 14 votes, 1.12 percent

District 3 Councilmember

Babatunde Alegbeleye: 266 votes, 25.12 percent
Henri Gardner: 792 votes, 74.79 percent
Write in: 1 vote, 0.09 percent
 

District 4 Councilmember

Isaac C. Trouth:1,020 votes, 99.80 percent
Write in: 2 votes,  0.20 percent

Advisory Question: Do you support 4-year terms for the Mayor & City Council?  

Yes: 2,989 votes, 65.65 percent
No: 1,564 votes, 34.35 percent
