Where to See Fireworks in Bowie, Annapolis and the D.C. and Baltimore Metro Areas

Still not sure where you're going to watch the fireworks? Bowie Patch has you covered.

Sparklers and snap pops, hot dogs and lemonade, parades, ceremonies and festivals—it must mean the Fourth of July is around the corner as plans for fireworks displays and everything red, white and blue starts to take shape.

Here’s a list of things to do, places to go and people to see throughout the region. Have a safe and happy Fourth!

Bowie

Allen Pond Park

  • Entertainment provided by area band Diamond Alley will start at 5:30 p.m. and continue until 9 p.m.  Mayor Robinson will welcome everyone and introduce local elected officials after the band is done, followed by a short flag ceremony and the singing of our national anthem. Fireworks begin at approximately 9:15 p.m.  Food and drinks will be on sale throughout the park beginning at 3 p.m.  Excellent viewing locations and concessions are available on both the Northview Drive and the Mitchellville Road sides of the park.  Grills are permitted in designated areas only.  No pets will be allowed in the park on July 4th.  The rain date for fireworks only is Tuesday, July 5th.  For more information, call 301-809-3011.

Prince George's County Stadium

  • The Bowie Baysox face off against the Reading Phillies with a fireworks display after the game at 4101 NE Crain Hwy, Bowie. Game time is 6:05 p.m. Tickets available at the box office or call 301-464-4865 for tickets and information.

Washington D.C.

National Fireworks Display

  • The Fourth of July fireworks on the National Mall start at dark, about 9:15 p.m. from the Lincoln Memorial reflecting pool and light up the sky over the Washington Monument. Rain Date is July 5. For other events in the area, visit here.
  • Also that Riverdale Park-University Park Patch Editor Sonia Dasgupta found, and is a place to watch the fireworks without braving the crowds downtown.

Baltimore

Inner Harbor Fireworks Display

  • Fireworks begin above the Inner Harbor At 9:30 p.m. For the best views, visitors can enjoy the fireworks from the harbor or surrounding areas, including Canton, Federal Hill, Fell’s Point and Harbor East.  Those traveling to the downtown area are encouraged to ride the MTA Bus, Metro Subway and Light Rail.

Independence Day Deck Party

  • Party at the Inner Harbor, 7 p.m. – 10 p.m. American backyard barbecue favorites served with local beer, wine, and assorted sodas. Overlook the Inner Harbor high above the crowds and enjoy a great view of the fireworks. Live music, special tours, cannon firings and more. Call 410-539-1797 for information.
  • The cost is $65/adults; $25/youth 17 and under; $50/members; $20/youth members

College Park

Fireworks Display

  • Food and music start at 7 p.m., with fireworks around 9 p.m. The Fabulous Hubcaps will perform and concessions will be available. Parking Lot 1, off Campus Drive near the University Boulevard/Adelphi Road entrance.

Greenbelt

Fireworks Display and Other Events

  • The fireworks are scheduled to start around 9:30 p.m. at Buddy Attick Park in Greenbelt, 555 Crescent Road. for more details.

Annapolis

Independence Day Parade

  • Starts at 6:30 p.m. at Amos Garrett Boulevard proceeding down West Street to Church Circle, down Main to Randall Street, then to the Market House where there will be live entertainment followed by the Naval Academy Band playing at 8 p.m.

Fireworks Display

  • Starts at about 9:15 p.m. The Spa Creek Bridge will be closed starting at 9 p.m. for spectators. Viewing areas include all of the downtown area and the public areas along the Naval Academy Bridge.
  • Downtown parking will be restricted in many areas but is available at the Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium off of Rowe Boulevard where a free shuttle to the Lawyer’s Mall in front of the State House will be  provided by the City of Annapolis.
  • The shuttle will operate from 4 p.m. to midnight. There is a $5 charge for parking at the stadium; the shuttle to downtown is free.

Fort Meade

  • Celebration from noon to 10:30 p.m. Open to the public. Free admission.  DJ, Band, Food/beverage vendors, novelty vendors, Karate demonstration and fireworks at Routes 175 (Annapolis Road) and Reece Road.
