Tornado Watch Extended Again Until 3 p.m.

The National Weather Service has issued a tornado watch for the area until.

UPDATE 10:30 a.m. 4-28 - With conditions still favorable for tornado activity, the National Weather Service has now extended the tornado watch until 3 p.m. on Thursday afternoon.

UPDATE 8:15 p.m. 4-27 - The tornado watch issued has now been extended to 2 a.m. The National Weather Service has also now included a flash flood warning for central Prince George's County, in effect until 10:15 p.m.

An alert from the City of Bowie said that the developing tornado activity is tracking towards Bowie, Mitchellville and Crofton and that residents should prepare to take cover.

Original Posting: The National Weather Service has issued a tornado watch until 8 p.m. this evening. Bowie may experience winds of up to 70 mph, hail, and several storms capable of producing tornadoes.
