Thanksgiving Food Donation Opportunities in Bowie
Help a neighbor in need this Thanksgiving by donating food to the Bowie Interfaith Food Pantry, or to a county-wide collection drive.
The Bowie Interfaith Food Pantry is putting together dinner baskets for Thanksgiving and Christmas. They request donations of the following items:
- Boxed instant mashed potatoes
- Stuffing
- Canned mushroom soup
- French fried onion pieces
- Cranberry sauce
- Gravy
- Pumpkin pie mix (not pure pumpkin)
- Fruit pie filling
- Boxed pie crust mix
- Hot chocolate
- Hot apple cider packets
- Marshmallows
- Pancake mix
- Syrup
- Canned yams
- Snacks—salty or sweet
- Fresh fruit
- Holiday paper products
- Perishable items: turkeys, chickens, hams, eggs, butter, dinner rolls
Note: Individuals and groups may also put together holiday baskets for donation to the Pantry
The United Way’s Latin American Youth Center (LAYC) will assist serve over 500 meals and deliver 100 baskets in Prince George’s County with the assistance of your donations of:

- Canned meats - ham, turkey, chicken, tuna, and beef
- Peanut butter and jelly
- Canned soups, stew and chili
- Cereal and cereal bars
- Canned vegetables
- Macaroni and cheese
- Boxed meals
- Pasta
- Pasta Sauce
- Rice
- Fruit Juices
Donations will be accepted from Nov. 1 – Dec. 21 at LAYC's headquarters at 1419 Columbia Road, NW, Washington, DC, Monday through Friday, from 8:00a.m. to 7:00p.m.
Valuable Blessings, located in Capitol Heights will hold its annual Thanksgiving Banquet on Wednesday, Nov. 21 and is looking to the community for donations of:

- Desserts
- Breads
- Beverages
- Paper goods
