Snow Closes PGCPS, Federal Government Wednesday

The Prince George's County government is open with a liberal leave policy in effect.

Udate: 10:30 a.m.: Bowie State University is now closed for the day on Wednesday

Prince George's County Pubic Schools (PGCPS) are closed and all after-school activities canceled on Wednesday due to a snowstorm predicted to dump between five and ten inches of snow in the region. 

PGCPS are operating under a Code Yellow, which requires only emergency employees to report as scheduled. 

The Prince George's County Government will remain open Wednesday, with liberal leave for all non-essential employees, but Prince George's County District Court is closed for the day.

Department of Parks and Recreation facilities will be closed to the public Wednesday, with a liberal leave police in effect for non-essential employees.

The University of Maryland at College Park will be closed Wednesday, but Bowie State University will open at 11 a.m. 

The federal government is also closed, according to the Office of Personnel Management's website. Emergency employees and telework-ready employees should follow agency-specific policies and telework agreements.
