Roads Still Closed After Flooding

More rain is in the forecast for this evening.

Streets around the county remained closed Friday afternoon following more heavy rain and flooding.

In Bowie, Governor’s Bridge Road was still closed at noon, but will re-open after water has subsided and crews from the county Department of Public Works and Transportation remove tree debris and sediment from the roadway, according to a county news release.

  • Floral Park Road between Windbrook Drive and Danville Road, Clinton
  • Judges Drive, Upper Marlboro
  • Baden-Naylor Road at Molly Berry Road, Brandywine
  • McKendree Road at MD 373 and Mister Road, Brandywine 
    • MD 381, Mattawoman Drive to Missouri Avenue, Brandywine
    • MD 717, North of MD 4/Water Street, Upper Marlboro
    • MD 725, Between US 301 and Governor Oden Bowie Drive, Upper Marlboro  

More thunderstorms and rain showers are predicted throughout this afternoon and tonight, according to the National Weather Service. With the ground already saturated, more rain could cause flash flooding and flooding of creeks and streams. A flash flood watch remains in effect until 8 p.m.
