POLL: Do You Support No Smoking Policies?

The Bowie Baysox announced that smoking will not be allowed inside Prince George's Stadium.

Joining a number of other organizations to adopt a no smoking policy, the announced Tuesday that smoking will no longer be allowed inside Prince George's stadium.

The ban takes effect immediately "to create a more healthy and pleasant environment at the ballpark," according to a release.

Previously, smoking was permitted in a section at the end of the third base concourse. There will reportedly be specified areas outside the front gates where smoking is permitted, but fans will have to leave the stadium and use their ticket stubs to reenter.

Effective in May 2011, the to ban smoking on all city of Bowie property including city-owned parks and facilities. Violators can be subject to a $50 fine, according to the city's website, but smoking is allowed inside a vehicle parked in a parking lot on city property if the windows are closed.
