Need City Services in Bowie? There’s an App for That

The city launched a new app earlier this month to help better serve residents.

Have discolored water, an animal control issue, or want to request additional police patrols in your neighborhood, but don’t have time to call City Hall? No worries—there’s an app for that.

In May, the City of Bowie launched its very own service request app for iPhone and Android smartphone users.

The app allows residents to request a variety of city services. If residents see an issue—like a pothole, street sign graffiti, broken street light, or traffic jam—he or she can snap a photo of the issue and send it directly to the city.

Residents can also report suspicious activity, animal control issues and code compliance problems. They can request street sweeping, police patrols and special refuse item pickups.

The app also has links to city run facilities, like the Bowie Ice Arena and the City of Bowie Gym, and to city news and FAQ.

The City of Bowie Service app is free for smartphone users. More information can be found online for iPhone users and Android users by clicking the links.
