Lottery for White House Easter Egg Roll Set for Thursday-Sunday

Theme for April 25th event to be 'Get Up and Go' in keeping with first lady's health initiatives

Want to take your kids to the White House Easter Egg Roll this year? You'll have to enter an online lottery for free tickets, starting at 12:01 a.m. on Thursday until 11:59 p.m. on Sunday. The event is open to children ages 12 and younger, and their families. To enter the lottery, visit rec.gov.

In keeping with Michelle Obama's healthy kids initiatives, the White House Easter Egg Roll will have the theme "Get Up and Go" this year. The event will feature live music, sports courts, cooking stations, storytelling and Easter egg rolling on the White House South Lawn.

All of the activities will encourage children to lead healthy and active lives and follow the First Lady’s "Let’s Move!" initiative, a national campaign to combat childhood obesity.

The White House Easter Egg Roll takes place on Monday, April 25th from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The White House is located at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave., in Washington, D.C. for more information, call (202) 456-7041. Visitors for the Easter Egg Roll will enter through the Ellipse and go through security.
