Irish/American Rock Band Plays Bowie Saturday

The Donegal X-Press will play at the Old Bowie Town Grille from 8:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. for a $5 cover charge.

Lovers of American rock and traditional Irish music are in for a treat when the Baltimore-based Irish/American rock band The Donegal X-Press plays at the Old Bowie Town Grille Saturday.

“We are looking forward to returning to the Old Bowie Town Grille,” said Brand Dunnells, the lead vocalist, guitar player and songwriter for the band. “They have an eclectic audience and and an eclectic mix of music.”

The band started when the members were students at Towson University in the mid-90s and they have been playing together for more than 15 years.

Dunnells describes their sound as American roots rock with an Irish twist.

“We appeal to a wide mix of audiences regardless of musical tastes or age because we do such a wide mix of music encapsulated by an Irish Americana feel,” he said.

Saturday’s show starts at 8:30 p.m. and the band will play until around 12:30 a.m. There is a $5 cover charge.
