Fright Fest Opens This Weekend

Six Flags America's spooky attraction will run through Oct. 28.

Boo!

The spookiest season of the year begins this Saturday with the opening of the Six Flags America Fright Fest in Upper Marlboro.

Starting at 6 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday nights through Oct. 28, the park turns dark, scary dark, according to park officials. This year’s Fright by Night, Beware of the Awakening, turns the park into a terrifying hunting ground for the undead.

There will be more than a dozen spooky attractions at this year’s event, including Blood Factory, Toxic Fallout, Road Rage Cage, Stage Fright and more.

Those looking for a more family friendly fall celebration won’t want to miss Thrills by Day, which will feature friendly ghosts and goblins, and kid attractions including the Monster Mash Bash, a Halloween Dance Party, the Hilltop Gardens Maze and more, according to a Six Flags statement.

If all of that doesn’t sound creepy enough, on Oct. 13 there will be a cockroach eating contest. The person who ingests the most roaches in the given time period will win a 2013 Six Flags season pass.

Fright Fest opens Saturday, Sept. 29, and runs every Saturday and Sunday until Oct. 28 with special Friday openings on Oct. 19 and 26 at 5 p.m. for Fright by Night only. Fright by Night is not recommend for children under the age of 13.

My primary goal of forming this group, is to give all of us sufferers a feeling of belonging. SoRead More many people feel like they have no where, and no one to turn to, and I want to be that person and provide a group that can offer a pick-me-up throughout the day, or something to look forward to mid-week. So far, I have had 3 people reach out to me which is wonderful, however, I would like to have at least 5 people for our first meeting. I look forward to hearing from YOU soon! ~Cheers, Brittany
