Flood Watch in Effect Through Thursday Evening

Most of the area is under a flood watch, including Prince George's and Anne Arundel Counties.

The National Weather Service has issued a flood watch for much of the area—including Prince George’s and Anne Arundel counties—in effect through Thursday evening.

It’s predicted that periods of moderate to heavy rain will move into the region ahead of a cold front through Thursdy evening. Isolated amounts of up to 4 inches of rain are expected, with most of the region predicted to get 2-3 inches.

With this amount of rain predicted, low-lying areas have an increased chance of flooding, and small streams and creeks may rise out of their banks. That runoff could create significant rises on area rivers.
