Celebrate St. Patrick's Day in Bowie

A few places in town to celebrate the luck o'the Irish.

Looking for a little local Irish cheer on St. Patrick's Day? There are a few places in Bowie where you can get your fix.

Simple Pleasures Ice Cafe is hosting a St. Patty's Shamrock Weekend, starting with a traditional Irish brunch at 9 a.m. on Sunday. 

If you can't make it to brunch, they'll also be serving Irish favorites for lunch and dinner, including  corn beef and cabbage, bangers and mash, fish and chips and Guinness beef stew. You can finish off your Irish feast with some homemade Guinness Stout Ice Cream.

Simple Pleasure's is not the only game in town. Local favorite, Old Bowie Town Grille will be serving Irish lunch and dinner on St. Patrick's Day eve, featuring corned beef and cabbage and shepherd's pie. Happy hour on Saturday will be from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. and there will be live, local music from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. for a $5 cover charge. 

On St. Patrick's Day, the Old Town Bowie Grille will open at 8 a.m. for steak and eggs and specials on Irish food and drinks all day. Live music is set to start at 11 a.m.
