Bowie, How Cold is Too Cold?

How are you handling Bowie's newfound frigid temperatures?

The first few days of 2012 have proven to be the coldest of Bowie's current winter season. Over the last three days, Bowie has averaged a nighttime temperature of 17 degrees and a daily high of only 40 degrees.

In comparison to the previous winter months of October, November and December, January has been coldest so far.

Here's how it stacks up by the numbers.

Month Average Minimum October 2011
54 degrees 28 degrees November 2011
48 degrees 24 degrees December 2011
41 degrees 21 degrees January 2012 30 degrees 12 degrees

Although January is so far the coldest winter month, it's still not quite as bad as last year, where the average low was a frigid 5 degrees

It's currently so cold that when I walk outside, my breath is so thick that it looks like I'm smoking a cigarette.

A friend told me that he doesn't mind the cold as long as there's snow. Unfortunately for him or those who feel the same way, it doesn't look like snow is in the cards, at least this week.

The weather forecast is calling for precipitation this weekend, but only after temperatures go above 40 and 50 degrees.
