Belair Mansion holds Christmas Tree Lighting

Bowie dives into the holiday season with a ceremonial Christmas tree lighting followed by caroling and a special guest visit from Santa Claus.

Bowie families gathered Sunday evening at Belair mansion on Tulip Grove Drive for the city’s ceremonial Christmas tree lighting. Mayor G. Frederick Robinson made opening remarks and introduced the “dean” of the city council, Dennis Brady, along with state Del. Geraldine Valentino-Smith and the rest of the city council.

The group then sang holiday carols led by Bowie resident Nichelle Fullen. They sang until the guests of honor, Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus, arrived on a fire truck from Bowie Volunteer Fire Station No. 39.
