Spring into Action with Business Networking Events

The best way to promote your business for the least amount of money is business networking.

It may feel like spring with 50 and 60 degree temperatures but it is just January. However, spring is just a few short weeks away. With spring comes new ways to do things and new adventures. There are even new adventures to explore with your business marketing too.

Sure you may have tried newspaper ads and maybe even television and radio for your small business. Hopefully you have a professional website and a Facebook business page. If you have a Facebook page, you should be posting on it at least once a day. The best way to promote your business for the least amount of money is business networking.

You may be attending networking events with the Greater Bowie Chamber of Commerce (GBCC). The GBCC website has details of the events and benefits of membership at www.bowiechamber.org. But did you know there are many, many other choices for networking events in the Greater Bowie area?

You might like to try the Bowie Business Start-up and Support Meetup. They have over 800 members and meet twice a month in Bowie. The group meets the first Wednesday of the month at 7PM at the Giant at Freestate Shopping Center and the last Friday of the month at 11:45AM at Old Bowie Town Grille. These events are free. You can join at www.meetup.com/bowiebusiness. Check www.meetup.com for additional meetups in your area.

There is a paid business networking group called Mid Atlantic Networking that meets the second Wednesday or Thursday of each month at Glory Days in Bowie. You can attend the first time as a guest. You may join for a small annual fee and attend all events in 13 locations in Maryland, Virginia and Delaware for just $1 an event. All events include food and soft drinks. Check out their website at www.midatlanticnetworking.com.

Networking Your Biz Events is owned by Rochelle Fernandez and John Ross. They feature five to six business networking events in many Maryland locations each month. You attend at no cost and enjoy speakers, mini expos, food tastings and prizes. Check out the details at www.networkingyourbizevents.com.

There are also Network Referral Group (NRG) and Business Networking International (BNI). Check online for groups in your area.

The best way to promote your business for the least amount of money is business networking. Collect business cards at events and follow-up with an email, direct mail or phone call. Schedule appointments with the people you meet for coffee or lunch to see how you can help each other.
