Local Business Owners Locked-up for Muscular Dystrophy

30 business owners help raise over $5,000 for muscular dystrophy in a lock-up at Big Fish Grille on Halloween.

How do you raise money for a good cause? Have fun!

Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) is the world's largest non-governmental sponsor of research seeking the causes of, and effective treatments for, neuromuscular diseases. The Association sponsors some 300 research projects annually.

About 30 business owners where locked-up today to help raise money for Muscular Dystrophy. This is the way to do it! The Easton Cambridge division of the MDA set our bail at $3,000 each. We had several months to raise the money by email, in person, social media, phone calls or any way we could.

I was picked up at my house in a gorgeous, extra-long, white limousine at 1PM today. We picked up one other person and drove to Big Fish Grille in Crofton. We were booked and got our mug shot taken. We were seated among the other business owners, ate a great lunch and made phone calls to others who would donate more money. I raised $585, a friend raised $639 and a team raised $4,400 today.

The money was raised to help people, especially children, get to summer camp for a week in the summer. The money was also raised for camp sponsorships, support group sponsorships and research.
