Bowie Resident Self-Publishes Again: Do you have a book in you?

Everyone has a book in them. What will you write about?

Cindy Freland has been a Bowie resident since 1967. She has seen many changes and many people come and go. But what hasn't changed is the determination of most local business owners. They struggle with everyday life with kids, spouses and household chores and they struggle with trying to keep their businesses going.

One way Freland has helped her business is by writing books. All of her books are available on Amazon. She has written five children's books, most are about animals and inspired by true events, and illustrated by Scottish artist, John Morris. Her six business books help with her business as they are written on topics such as resumes, becoming a virtual assistant, Facebook, self-publishing, selling your crafts, how to use a virtual assistant. All topics she promotes and helps with through her virtual assistant company, Maryland Secretarial Services, Inc.

Writing books shows you are an expert in your field. It also helps you promote your business and bring in more income. Let's say you make BBQ sauce or offer seafood. You could write a recipe book to help promote your products. You will be the expert in your field, give your customers great recipes and your book will give your customers ideas on how to use your products.

You can also write books on important topics, including bullying and abuse. That's Not My Name, was written by Anita Posey-Fendall. It is a book about bullying and should be in every elementary school and library. It is also available on Amazon.

Private books are great too. Freland wrote a book for her father's 85th birthday to remind him about the dates and names of his family members as he has dementia.
