You may know Facebook as a website where your kids share their photos and day-to-day experiences. But it is so much more than that. Facebook was created by Mark Zuckerberg in 2004 as a communication website between college students.
What is Facebook? It is a social media website that allows you to reach over 850 million people at any time, anywhere in the world. What does this mean to your business? It means that you get great exposure for little to no cost.
Facebook is rapidly growing as the #1 place to post events, photos, videos, articles, questions and specials for your products and services. It is also the best place to continue building long-lasting business relationships with people you meet at networking events.
Experts say that posting at least once daily is best and post from 3:00-5:00 PM Monday through Friday. However, I have also read that you should post once an hour and also post on Sundays. It is entirely up to you, what you have planned for your business and the time you have to dedicate.
The best way to learn about Facebook is to use it. The best way to learn to use it is to attend classes or read books about it. I teach Facebook workshops in three levels at Greater Bowie Chamber of Commerce, Anne Arundel Community College and Bowie Senior Center. I also design Facebook pages and have written a 72- page book called, "Easy Guide to Your Facebook Business Page." This book includes step-by-step instructions and color screen shots so you can design your own business page. My book is available on Amazon.com at http://www.amazon.com/Easy-Guide-Facebook-Business-Volume/dp/1479307378/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1349974118&sr=8-1&keywords=cindy+freland.
