Superior Lane Safeway Closes It's Doors

The store closes for good at 6 p.m. Sept. 14.

The aisles are nearly bare in the Safeway on Superior Lane. The store closes it's doors for the last time tonight, Sept. 14, at 6 p.m. All food and merchandise is marked 30 percent off.

Now that this store is closing, where will you go for your groceries? What kind of store would you like to see in Safeway's place - a new grocery store or perhaps a different retail outlet?

That mall has been dead for years! It's the only thing on the strip that hasn't been update. Time for a major change! I would love to see several retail stores, like Homegoods, Container Store, Pottery Barn. Something more upscale would be great!

A Trader Joes would be great!

Unfortunately, it's gonna be a tough sell. Between not having any other anchor stores and not having any sort visible investment activity for the past 15+ years the mall appears ready for the wrecking ball. People's preference in mall layout appears to be the 'boulevard' style, not the indoor/outdoor malls of yesterday.

My primary goal of forming this group, is to give all of us sufferers a feeling of belonging. SoRead More many people feel like they have no where, and no one to turn to, and I want to be that person and provide a group that can offer a pick-me-up throughout the day, or something to look forward to mid-week. So far, I have had 3 people reach out to me which is wonderful, however, I would like to have at least 5 people for our first meeting. I look forward to hearing from YOU soon! ~Cheers, Brittany
