Off Broadway Shoes Steps Into Bowie Town Center

The warehouse shoe retailer is relocating this fall, but staying in Bowie.

Step lively, Bowie, because the Bowie Town Center’s newest tenant will have thousands of discounted shoes to keep closets stocked.

Off Broadway Shoe Warehouse is moving into the 25,075 square-foot space vacated by Old Navy earlier this year. The shoe retailer boasts more than 30,000 pairs of shoes for men, women and children and a wide array of fashion accessories.

“The addition of Off Broadway Shoe Warehouse marks our continued commitment to our shoppers,” stated Steven Andrews, mall manager for Bowie Town Center. “We strive to offer the best mix of options to our shoppers, and this national brand will further enhance the shopping experience at Bowie Town Center.”

The shoe store does not represent a completely new Bowie retailer. The Off Broadway Shoes in the Shoppes at Bowie Town Center, located on Evergreen Parkway, will simply be relocating to Bowie Town Center. Though the names are similar, The Shoppes at Bowie Town Center are operated by a different management company.

The decision to hop shopping centers was largely based on space.

“Off Broadway Shoe Warehouse continues to grow. The new store provides us an opportunity to better serve our customers with a larger selection of fashionable styles for women, men and children,” said Holly Clifford, a spokesperson for the company, in an email.

Company reps say there will be very little downtime between the closing of the current store and the opening of the new store.

Over the past several months, the Bowie Town Center has lost two major retailers—Bed Bath & Beyond and Old Navy—to the new Waugh Chapel Towne Centre in Gambrills. Off Broadway Shoes consciously chose to stay in Bowie when the time came to relocate its store.

“Bowie continues to be a great market for Off Broadway Shoe Warehouse,” according to store representatives,” according to an email from Clifford.

Off Broadway Shoes will join several new retailers in Bowie Town Center, including recently opened Francesca's and Fashion to Figure, and the still under construction L.A. Fitness and FoZenYo.
