Pizza! Pizza!

A new pizza joint is heading to Bowie Plaza in the space vacated a few months ago by The Cake Courtesan.

Little Caesar's hung a banner in the former sweet shop storefront at the end of December announcing its impending arrival. Bowie Plaza is looking a little empty these days, with the closing of The Cake Courtesan, Freestyle Fish 'n Chicken and Rainbow City Kidz. Little Caesar's is the first new spot to open there on nearly a year.

Bowie Plaza is located on Laurel-Bowie Road, at the intersection with Old Chapel. The shopping center is anchored by a Fitness 4 Less gym and the locally owned TJ Elliott's restaurant. There is also a CVS, a hair salon and a few other stores.

TELL US: Are you pleased to see the Little Caesar's moving in? What else would you like to see in Bowie Plaza?

I'd like to see TJ Elliot's improve the quality of their food. Other than the iconic Ledo Pizza, the rest is dreadful!

I'd like to see the Bowie City Council woo some retailers/restaurants into Bowie Plaza and the Market Place. It would be great if they could turn those shopping centers around like Hilltop Plaza. It's such a shame that they choose to woo St John Properties instead by encouraging the development of Melford. Do we really need another shopping center on Rt 3 between Bowie Town Center and Waugh Chapel? Please, citizens of Bowie, you need to attend the council meeting on January 14 to stop this nonsense!

I, too, miss a small grocery store in Bowie Plaza. Going to Giant or Safeway is a pain when you only need a few things. T. J. Elliot's has many other good things on their menu. Their Sunday breakfast is very good and the atmosphere is quiet. One of my favorites at lunch is their Reuben - the best. Their Eggplant Parmesan is a dinner favorite. Just a few positives.

I would also love to see a grocery store in the Bowie plaza but I guess they needed a GYM more, so too late for the grocery store now : ( this shopping center has been pushed aside while hilltop has been stepped up, the stores in the plaza are not that attractive, inside or out !!! the laundry place there is the most filthy disgusting place ever, I cant believe they even allow it to stay open, I would never take clothes there to wash. the entire shopping plaza needs a new makeover with new retailers. That shopping center just brings down the quality and beauty of this side of Bowie. I agree with Bryna about TJ Elliots, I love the Pizza, but I think I paid 40.00 for 3 steak subs that didn't even come with fries lol , and burnt, Please forgive me but the food is not that good really (sorry) we have tried several different dinner selections and still same results... very happy little Caesars is coming !!!
