Coming Soon to Bowie Town Center: LA Fitness

Bowie residents will be able to shop and get in a workout all in the same place the fall, when LA Fitness opens up in Bowie Town Center this fall.

The new 30,000 sqft. gym will open in the space that formerly housed Bed Bath & Beyond, which relocated three miles north to Crofton last year. The space has sat vacant for just over 8 months.

“We look forward to bringing an LA Fitness to this part of Prince George County and to joining the other great tenants at Bowie Town Center,” Bill Horner, senior vice president/chief real estate Officer at LA Fitness, said in a statement.

The new fitness facility will offer “a three-lane lap pool, separate studios for aerobics and indoor cycling, over 80 state-of-the art pieces of cardio with individual viewing screens, and a wide selection of circuit machines and free weights,” according to the statement.

LA Fitness will also offer more than 80 group exercise classes a week, ranging from kickboxing to Zumba to low impact yoga.

Personal training and a 1,000 sqft. Kids Club babysitting service for members will also be available.

“We’re thrilled that LA Fitness is going to open at Bowie Town Center,” Steven Andrews, mall manager, said in a statement. “It will serve as a great amenity for our center and a wonderful location to stay fit for our shoppers, employees in the surrounding office buildings, and the community at-large.”
